Congo DRC

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is roughly the size of the United States east of the Mississippi River. The country is made up of rain forests, grasslands and mountain regions. Due to political unrest, the economy and the education system are in ruin. Despite this, the literacy rate is still quite high among adults. Without improvement to education in the Congo, that rate is sure to drop with future generations. The vast majority of Congolese are Christian, with some choosing traditional or Muslim belief systems. Regardless of their religion, the Congolese regularly attend worship services and participate in public prayers.

Young Life started in 2008 and already they have clubs in three neighborhoods with about 50 kids attending each club each week.
