Lista

Lista is a twenty-year-old law student from the bustling city of Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo. She and her many siblings were raised by her stepmother after her parents separated when she was young. Life with her stepmother was challenging and often left her feeling defeated by her circumstances. Lista shares, “My parents' divorce made me realize that in life we are faced with several difficult situations, but the best approach is to have courage and a good heart to overcome each situation as it comes." Lista reflects that God’s mercy shone through when her friend invited her to Young Life. She committed her life to Jesus Christ as a young teenager. “I felt my life transform. I felt all my unpleasant behavior leave and a new Spirit take residence in my heart,” shared Lista. As a Young Life leader, Lista is brave and sociable with a strong capacity to mobilize young people. Her love for God is evident in all she does. Now a Developing Global Leader, Lista is studying law and diplomacy at the University of Lubumbashi. Looking ahead, Lista will be the first person in her family to go to university. She has the goal of becoming one of the greatest lawyers in her country in order to defend those in need in her community.
