My name is Ntugulo, and I live with my family in the commune of Kadutu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Growing up alongside my parents and eight siblings, I had a good childhood and our education and faith were always a priority. My father, a teacher, worked long hours and even spent over five years away to earn his degree. His hard work and determination have been a great inspiration to me. In the DRC, nothing comes easily, but there are possibilities if you are willing to make sacrifices and work hard. My parents' unwavering desire for the best for their children has motivated me to pursue my faith and my future.
I grew up in the church, finding comfort and refuge in our church routine. However, the faith I practiced was that of my family and not my own. It wasn't until my Young Life leader asked me to lead campaigners that my relationship with Jesus deepened significantly. I discovered that in sharing the good news of Christ with others, I was also nourishing my soul. I felt fulfilled, and my calling became clear. I wanted others to know and love Jesus as I did and for everyone to have that love in their hearts.
As a Developing Global Leader, I am pursuing a clinical psychology degree from Catholic University in Bukavu. I chose clinical psychology because it is rarely discussed or addressed in our society. Many people suffer mentally without realizing they are ill, and I believe they experience great despair. As a medical professional and a Christian, I aim to help them and share our hope in Jesus.
