My name is Sanganyi but my friends call me Nicole. I live in Bukavu in the Republic of Congo. I live in a densely populated district easily impacted by fire due to open kitchens and poor conditions. I have been a victim of this as my home has caught fire four times. My childhood was very challenging because my mother left me, my father, and little brother and sister when I was eight years old. We sometimes went to sleep without eating and I barely finished high school because my father could not afford to pay for it. Because of these difficulties, I was very angry, but thanks to God and Young Life leaders who pursued me, my life and heart changed.
I heard about Jesus for the first time in Young Life. At first, I did not want to hear about Jesus, but thanks to Young Life and my leader pursuing me countless times, I came to know Him as the Savior of my life. He is my greatest strength. I am now a WyldLife team leader. I also go to church and am involved in Bible study there. Our church started as a revival at the bottom of a tree and has grown to be a support in my community.
As a recipient of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, I am studying science and medicine at the Evangelic University of Africa in Bukavu. I am the first person in my family to graduate from university. I want to be a doctor and help my community by improving living conditions. My vision for my WyldLife ministry is to train more solid leaders and to grow clubs in new areas reaching more kids with the hope of Jesus.
