Tanzania is known by many as the home of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti, Zanzibar and the Swahili Coast. In this country of more than 30 million people, there are overwhelming challenges for young people: an un-official HIV infection rate of 25 percent; a high school enrollment rate of only 12 percent; an average per capita income of $260 per year.
Young Life in Africa is headquartered in Tanzania. There are five national staff working in nine different areas. More than 900 kids are at club each week.
