My name is Judith and I live in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. When I was young, my world turned upside down when my mother passed away. As a long-haul truck driver, my father was away most of the time and felt ill-equipped to raise his three daughters. It was decided that my sisters and I had to move out of our home and be separated from one another. I was sent to live with my grandmother and felt like I was living in bondage. When I fell short of expectations, I was mistreated and felt unworthy. As a young girl, happiness was a rarity to me.
It was not until high school that I experienced my first encounter with true joy when I attended a Young Life club. I found myself surrounded by singing, laughter, and abundant delight. On that day, a kind leader entered my life, and she remained faithful, inviting me to clubs, for coffee, and to camps. Her unwavering support proved to be the catalyst for much goodness in my life and ultimately introduced me to Jesus. With Jesus, I have found that I am more than enough and am loved unconditionally. Feeling unworthy and uncared for is now a thing of the past.
I want to reflect Jesus, just as I saw Him through my kind Young Life leader. Currently, as a Developing Global Leader, I am working towards earning my degree in mass communications from a local university in Dar es Salaam. My goal is to become a journalist. I want to provide a platform for others to share their stories and give them a voice. Ultimately, I want to share the greatest love story of all time - the love of our heavenly Father, who desires to know every one of His children.
