My name is Condrad and I live in Songea City, Tanzania, with my father and siblings. I lived with both of my parents until they had a major conflict and they abandoned us, leaving home for a long time. We were alone, and suffered a great emptiness, barely able to meet our basic needs. We would go days without eating and spend much of our time fearful of the future. A local Young Life leader intervened and eventually our father returned home. As much as I tried to distract myself with schooling, I remained empty inside, uncertain of where or to whom to turn.
My life changed when that same leader continued caring for me as a friend. He invited me to Young Life club where I was surrounded by much happiness and laughter, unlike anything I had ever experienced. Soon after, while listening to a speaker at camp, I felt assured that Jesus was calling me into a relationship with Him. The joy I experienced when I stepped into that relationship was unmatched. I now serve as a Young Life leader in my community.
As a Developing Global Leader, I am studying to become a doctor at Kampala International University in Tanzania. My vision is to be the first college graduate in my family. I see much need for proper healthcare in our country as we have a huge population whose health is overlooked or care is inaccessible. I am committed to sharing the gospel with others, hoping they experience the same peace and joy God has provided me.
