Located off of the northwestern coast of continental Europe, the United Kingdom collectively consists of the countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. As one of the few remaining constitutional monarchies in the world, the U.K.'s current queen, Elizabeth II, has been reigning for more than 60 years. Once the largest empire in history, it still has great influence in economic issues, culture, military action, science and politics around the world. Although the majority of the population claims Christianity, very few actually attend any religious services with a growing number claiming no religion at all.
