My name is Aaron and I was fortunate to grow up in a Christian household, surrounded by a loving church community that played a significant role in my upbringing. Living in a house in a small village with my Mum, Dad, and sister, my early years were shaped by a close-knit family environment. In primary school, it took me some time to find my footing socially, but through rugby, I formed a caring group of friends, some of whom I keep in touch with today.

Growing up in a Christian family and church provided me with a foundational understanding of Jesus, but it wasn't until the summer of 2021 that I truly began to know Christ on a personal level. During that summer, I witnessed the profound impact Jesus had on the lives of leaders and teens around me, more than I ever had before. This experience opened my eyes to the power and love of Jesus in action, and it was at that moment that I realized the importance of following Him. My connection to Young Life, facilitated by my church and the fact that my dad had been involved since I was in third year, played a crucial role in strengthening my relationship with Jesus.

Now, as a Developing Global Leader, I want to pursue a postgraduate certificate in education after completing my degree in sports and exercise sciences. I chose this path as I believe my experience and enjoyment in youth work would serve me well as a secondary school teacher. Additionally, I am considering the option of studying an additional placement year at university, which I feel would be highly beneficial in preparing me for my future career in education.
