Kezia

I am Kezia, but my friends call me Keiz. I live in Kigamba, Masaka, Uganda with my parents and seven siblings. I grew up in a humble, Christian community that taught me love, responsibility, kindness, and care for others. My greatest challenge came during COVID-19 when my father, a compound designer, had a fatal accident and my mother, was not working; at a young age started working to fend for the family, and I missed a year of school while looking for money to go back. That experience shaped me deeply teaching me resilience and responsibility.

My relationship with Jesus was more like a routine until I heard about Young Life through a volunteer leader in Masaka and went to a Young Life camp where I heard the Gospel of loving the Lord and fearing him. There I decided to love Jesus and accept Him as my personal Lord and Savior. I have now been part of Young Life for 13 years - 7 years as a club kid and 6 years as a volunteer leader in Masaka - serving in high school, neighborhood and college.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I will be the first in my family to attend university, starting my Bachelor's in Computer Science and Information Technology at Kampala University, Masaka. I want to be Christ’s ambassador in my college as I look forward to starting a Christian foundation school that will shape many children into responsible adults in the future after attaining this degree.
