Allan

My name is Allan also known as Katambara.  I live in Kamwenge Ward, Gariraya Cell in Mbarara, Uganda with my brother. I am the first born of 3 children. My parents, Apollo Barugahare and Kyabaishiki Loyce, are peasant farmers. Growing-up was not easy. Resources were limited, but I learned to be content. I suffered a severe mental illness where I nearly became insane, and God healed me by His grace. 

My life began to change when my Area Director, Kanyesigye Patience, contacted me. Her consistent friendship and care challenged me. In 2021 at Yesu Ahurire in Karama, I gave my life to Jesus and invited Him to be Lord of my life. This decision shaped me deeply as a campaigner and later a confident adaptable leader. Today, I lead Kibale High School Young Life Club and I am also the youth leader in my local church.

Now, a Developing Global Leader, I have the privilege to enroll for my Bachelor’s in Education at Bishop Stuart University in Mbarara. My goal as a DGL is to grow as a servant leader with strong character and integrity, improve my academic and leadership skills, and gain the knowledge and confidence to inspire change and contribute to the development of my country as the first graduate in my family.
