Irene

My name is Anyango Irene. I am the first born of 6 children. I live with my family in Soroti. Growing up was hard. My uncles took over my father’s land and property, so we had to relocate to the town where my parents started renting. Life got even tougher during COVID when my dad stopped working. I was still in school and began worrying about how we would survive and pay fees. 

My turning point came when Mr. Eyoma David invited me to Erimu Young Life Club. During a Bible study that day, I gave my life to Jesus Christ and got opportunity to be discipled and later lead. I currently serve as Team Leader and I attend a Pentecostal church.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I will be the first to attend university in my family. I will join Kyambogo University in Kampala to study for a Bachelor’s Degree in Education majoring in History. My goal is to study hard and excel, stay active in ministry, share God’s gift with others, and continue serving as a Young Life leader. I believe my degree will bring positive change to my life, my family, and my community.
