I live in Arua City with my guardian, while my siblings remain in the village. My father passed away when I was four years old, and my mother abandoned us with my uncle when I was just three. Growing up without parental care, love, or support left me deeply embittered, and I vowed never to forgive my mother. To survive, I worked as a shamber boy on people’s farms and burned wild trees to sell as charcoal. Throughout my schooling, I constantly struggled with unpaid school fees.
Everything changed when I was invited to a Young Life club and later attended camp. During the Cross Talk, I surrendered my life to Jesus and accepted Him as my personal Savior. Since then, God has been helping me let go of the bitterness and unforgiveness I held toward my mother.
Now, through the gracious opportunity provided by the Developing Global Leaders program, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Education at Gulu University—with the goal of becoming an educator while serving and being mentored through Young Life.
