Neema

Hello, my name is Neema, but my friends and family call me Ney. I live in Zanzibar with my parents and my brother. Growing up, I struggled with severe asthma and was sick for much of my childhood. My parents were worried, and my father worked incredibly hard to help provide for my family. Despite my health struggles, my father made sure I stayed on top of my schooling. Slowly, I began to recover and was able to finish. The work ethic and empathy of my parents are something I carry with me every day. As a teenager, I found myself involved with a crowd that exhibited inappropriate behavior. I decided to distance myself from that environment, as I knew I wanted better for my life. I was invited to attend a Young Life club, where I found my faith in Jesus. Currently, I am in my fifth year as a leader at the Amani Neighborhood Club. Additionally, I am involved in the Deeper Life Bible Church Zanzibar, located in the city area, where I serve as a youth leader and a member of the praise and worship team. Walking with Jesus every day gives me great peace, knowing that He is with me wherever I go. As a Developing Global Leader, I aim to be the first university graduate in my family. I plan to attend Zanzibar Alliance and pursue a degree in hospitality and tourism. This career path will provide me with the opportunity to serve others and work within my community. I am looking forward to sharing the good news of Jesus with everyone I encounter.
