Julia

My name is Julia and I live in Poznań, Poland. My parents have always wanted what is best for me, however, growing up was a tough time personally. I was bullied for my faith at school and I had difficulties accepting myself. I desperately looked for attention and acceptance from others. There was never enough to fill the emptiness inside of me so I resorted to self-harming activities. Wanting to disappear completely, I cut myself off emotionally from my parents and friends. I just felt so left out by everybody.

I grew up in a Catholic family where religion was very important. When I was given an opportunity to attend Young Life camp out of the blue, I just went for it. I never expected that one decision to change my life so much. Although I had always had faith in God, Young Life came in and showed me everything from the very beginning. I dove into the Bible and learned the basics of my faith. As my attachment to God grew stronger, I began to hunger and thirst for Him and learned to talk to Him about everything. A leader in my community, I want to teach my girls about God’s love and His relentless pursuit of them.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I am earning my business management degree at Poznań University of Econmics and Business. I have a heart for missions and helping the marginalized grow and flourish. Reaching places where help is needed is ultimately what I hope to do with my life.
