Marta

Originally born in a Gava, Spain, Marta is a science student at the Tecnocampus Mataró Maresme in Mataro, outside of Barcelona. Growing up with her parents, brother and her dog Kenya, Marta had a great childhood. "I had a really happy childhood because my family has always helped and supported me." Marta spent her childhood involved in many sports where she learned persistence and recognized the value and beauty of working as a team.

Marta was exposed to church from a very early age, but it wasn’t until Young Life camp that her life changed. “I have always gone to my church with my family and was involved in Sunday school, meetings and camps. However, I grew deeper in my faith with Jesus at the Young Life camp I went to here in Spain, so when I came back, I decided that it was time to take another step and get baptized.” Outside of pursuing her university degree and helping with the Young Life club in her area, she continues to be dedicated to sports and plays volleyball while also coaching at the local volleyball club.

Now, as part of the Developing Global Leaders program, Marta is pursuing a double degree in physiotherapy and sports science at Tecnocampus Mataró Maresme. "In the future I want to be a physical trainer in a sports club and I also want to be a growing part of my Young Life team and pour out the love I have received to the teens in my community.”
