Lisa

My name is Lisa Noah Johnson, but I prefer to be called Lee. I live in Gardnersville, a township on the outskirts of Monrovia, with my grandmother and my four siblings, three brothers and one sister. I felt great sorrow throughout my childhood after my dad left us, leaving my mother to play the role of both parents. My sorrows compounded a few years later with the death of my mother, leaving my siblings and I to be raised by our grandmother.

I met and accepted Jesus at a very young age because my mom took us to church regularly; I grew close to Jesus while playing a key role in the children's ministry. In the midst of the challenges I faced as a kid, I always had faith that one day God was going to turn things around for my good. I eventually became involved with Young Life when a friend invited me to attend club. Currently I am serving as the team leader and I am passionate about leading others and sharing about Jesus in my community.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I am studying nursing at Smythe Institute of Management and Technology. My educational goals include becoming one of the best nurses in my country. Ultimately, I want to save lives by improving the public health sector of Liberia. I will be the first in my family to graduate from university.
