Fredrick

My name is Fredrick, but go by the nickname Difre. I was born in Mombasa County, Kenya, as the firstborn in a family of four. My father was then working as a casual laborer with various institutions within town. Due to the increased demand of the daily basic needs for the growing town, we were forced to move to the rural area in Kitui County together with our jobless mother whose main task was to take care of her young children. Our father was left in town to continue striving towards putting food on the table for his family. It is by God’s grace, the generosity of others, and the hard work of our dad that I managed to complete my secondary schooling.

I am a born-again Christian that believes in the divinity of God in His trinity. I gave my life to Christ in 2016 at Young Life camp. My overwhelming encounter at the camp changed my entire picture of life and I made a choice to follow Christ. I am devoted towards serving in the body of Christ for the rest of my life.

I am enrolled at the Technical University of Mombasa with the hope that I will be equipped with the necessary skills to display competency in the field of technology in hotel and hospitality management and therefore unlock my economic destiny. Being a team leader in Young Life club, I foresee a bright future with my leadership skills being empowered by the responsibilities I hold in the group and hope to use them for God’s glory. I will be the first person in my family to graduate from university.
