Felix

My name is Felix, but I primarily go by the name Asher. I am from Nairobi, the capital of Kenya, where I split time living with either my grandparents or my uncle. I do not have any siblings and became used to doing things on my own from a young age. My parents passed away when I was eleven, and from that point on, I mostly lived with my father's mother, then moved in with my father's brother in high school.

I attended Sunday school from a young age with my family. After my parents passed away, I gave up on church and refused to go with the other members of my family who were my new caretakers. After many years, I went with my grandmother to church and was reminded of all the peace and hope that it had once provided, however I felt like I couldn’t return to something I had formerly abandoned. A few years later, I went to Young Life for the first time where I was introduced to a new community of friends and life to the full in Christ. It was then, that I rededicated my life to Jeus.

As a Developing Global Leader, I will be attending Mount Kenya University in Nairobi, Kenya. I will be majoring in counseling psychology and will be the first person in my family to go to college. I pray that I will use my career path and my studies to save more lives and more souls for Christ. As a counselor and psychiatrist, I will be able to execute my dream of helping others heal and grow.
