Jodson

Jodson is a patient and outgoing man from Savanette, a commune in central Haiti. He lives with his family including his siblings. He always loved school but faced repeated trials of his parents being unable to afford to send him, even to the extent that he would arrive at school and be sent home because of unpaid fees. His parents made many sacrifices for Jodson’s education, but unfortunately, most resources were used to cover the expenses of his sister’s illness and eventual death. The death of his sister caused Jodson to change the way he viewed life and has given him new understanding. Jodson expresses how the suffering he has faced taught him to depend on God, “I always ask God in my prayers to open a door for me. He is the God who can change time and circumstances. I lean on Him.”

The Young Life leaders in Jodson’s community had such a winsome way of sharing the gospel. As a young man they met him where he was and offered play and kindness along with a clear and gracious introduction you to Jesus. Judson grew tremendously in his faith and learned to study the Bible which changed everything.

Now a Developing Global Leader, Jodson sees how God is opening doors that he never thought would be available to him. He is studying business and economics and wants to have his own business and share what he has learned. It is important to Jodson to mentor other young kids, keep sharing the good news, while helping himself and others reach their goals. Jodson will be the first in his family to graduate from university.
