Clenson

Clenson is a kind and courageous young man from Aquin, a port city on the southern coast of Haiti. He has two brothers and one sister and was raised by his parents, all living together in a dwelling of two rooms without electricity and water. In spite of great poverty and adversity, Clenson worked diligently to complete high school, something that could not have been possible without prayer and help from others.

Clenson shares that he first heard about Jesus Christ on the radio during Covid through a crusade that was being broadcast prior to the earthquake that devastated Haiti. After seeing so many people lose their lives without Christ, Clenson was compelled to give his life to Christ. He became involved in church and Young Life and began growing in his faith. Clenson says, “Young Life gives me the opportunity to pursue young boys and girls like me and give them something to hope in.”

Now a Developing Global Leader, Clenson is studying business management at the American University of Modern Sciences of Haiti. He hopes that his kind spirit and love for administration and organization will help him in his future career. Finding a job or even creating your own opportunities is an uphill battle in Haiti, but Clenson is hopeful that doors will open for him and his family as a result of this opportunity to study. He is passionate about helping others make the right choice and hopes to serve others well with these gifts. He is growing in his leadership skills and passionate about developing leaders in his community. Clenson will be the first in his family to graduate from university.
