Worlkentz

I am Worlkentz and I live in Lascahobas, a small market town in a rural, agricultural area in Haiti. My mother, two younger sisters, and I live in a three-room dwelling with no electricity. We faced great hardship as a family, always navigating the struggle to put enough food on the table and finding money left over for school fees. Additionally, as the oldest, I carry the burden of responsibility to take care of my family and strive to make a name for us by contributing to my community.

When I was seventeen, I met Jesus when a missionary group told me about His unconditional love for me. Later, while sleeping, I had a dream where an old man came to me and said he would be with me every day. The following day, someone from Young Life shared the same thing. “Young man, if you give your life to Christ, He will be with you every day.”
From that moment, I felt a call to give myself to Christ, and now I am reaching young men like me for Christ in my community.

Raised in a rural environment, I want to help improve the education given in provincial areas of Haiti. Now, a Developing Global Leader, I am pursuing a degree is educational sciences at Quisqueya University. Combining my experience and the challenges I faced to obtain a quality education along with my passion to share knowledge and innovative thinking with others, I would like to make a lasting impact on the education system of my country. I will be the first in my family to graduate from university.
