My name is Flodina Pierre and my friends call me “Flor”. I am the second oldest of seven brothers. I am 22 years old and I live in Anse à Galets with my mother in a little two room house with one bedroom and one dining room. We don't have electricity. My father has been in a wheelchair for 7 years because he was shot. I love singing and have won several contests with singing. Even if the economic situation of our family is very sad, I am glad because God gives me talent to serve Him and make people happy.
My mother always took us to church, and I made the decision to follow Christ when I was 12; but when I met Young Life I began to understand better what being a Christian means to me. Young Life messages are different from the messages at church and that is the reason why I love Young Life and serving God in this ministry.
I also want to serve people by studying Diplomatic Sciences, because it is my dream to help make a difference in the diplomacy of Haiti; my country needs women like me. I want to give myself to help provide support for the disadvantaged and impoverished Haitians living in the eclectic, unstable culture here. I am studying at the Wesleyan University of Haiti. I am the first in my family to go to university.
