Uwineza

My name is Mutoni and I am from Musanze, the second largest city and primary tourism hub of Rwanda. I am the firstborn of seven children and I currently live with my parents and siblings. Being the firstborn in a poor family taught me the importance of working hard to ensure the well-being of my family and has confirmed the importance of being a positive example to my siblings. I grew up in the church and it was there that I first heard about Young Life. After a week at camp, I knew it was the ministry for me. I now serve as a Young Life leader and also am privileged to work with and support teen moms.

Studying at the university has always been a far-fetched dream for me due to my experience in high school, struggling continuously to cover my school fees. Now, a Developing Global Leader, I am overjoyed to study accounting at the University of Kigali. I want to be a professional accountant and own an auditing firm. It is my hope to provide job opportunities in my community and I have a dream of paying school fees for vulnerable kids in my community. I will be the first person in my family to graduate from university.
