Rwanda

Rwanda is a small country in central Africa dominated by highland plateaus and mountain ranges. All children in Rwanda have access to six mandatory years of schooling, however, family obligations and other factors force many girls to drop out early and many others never begin school in the first place. Christianity was introduced in the early 1900s and today the majority of Rwandans are Christian. Churches run schools and hospitals and they also play a political role in the country.

Young Life in Rwanda has only been in existence for a couple years. There are five national staff members and about 150 kids come to club each week.
