My name is Anna. I grew up in Comber, a small town in Northern Ireland with my parents and sister. When I was 9 years old, my sister was born. Also, in the few years that followed, six younger cousins were born, which made me the oldest and I became the built-in baby sitter. I struggled feeling like another parent rather than a sister. However, this ended up sparking my interest in working with kids and young people.
I grew up in a non-Christian family. When I was 11 years old, I was invited to WyldLife by a friend and loved it. I kept going and ended up doing Young Life too. I went to a Young Life camp in 2022 and really saw how I needed Jesus. That week, I gave my life to Jesus and became a Christian. Since then, I have served on two Young Life camp work crews and continue to grow in my faith and strength in Jesus, which has helped me show my family who He is. I am now a WyldLife leader and am involved in church.
As a recipient of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, I am studying education at the University of Reading in Reading. With my degree, I hope to be a primary school teacher and continue volunteering with WyldLife and church. I am passionate about teaching young people and helping them grow.
