Omar Alejandro

Omar is from Pachuca de Soto, Hidalgo, Mexico, where he lives with his mother and younger brother. Growing up, he learned the importance of responsibility, leadership, and caring for others. His grandfather also played an important role in his life, teaching him about the outdoors, mountaineering, and survival skills. These experiences helped shape Omar into someone who values empathy and being willing to serve others.

Omar came to know Jesus personally at age 13 during a Christian music camp. Although he had grown up hearing Bible stories and attending Sunday school, it was there that he placed his faith in Christ and began a deeper relationship with Him. Through prayer, Scripture, and the encouragement of Christian community, his faith has continued to grow. Omar became involved with Young Life after meeting his area directors at a ministry fair in 2024. He eventually joined the adventure club hosted by Young Life and discovered a place where he felt he truly belonged. Today, he serves as a coordinator for a Young Life club at his university and helps with the adventure club on weekends.

Now a Developing Global Leader, Omar is studying Industrial Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Pachuca. He hopes to graduate and pursue a career in security engineering, where he can use his analytical and problem-solving abilities. He also desires to make a positive impact on his university and community through his Christian faith and leadership. Omar hopes to continue serving young people, encourage others and make Christ known.
