Cindy

Cindy, also called Lady Cindy, is from Kasoa, Ghana. She is the first of 6 children. Her father has passed away. Her mother, Mary Kwakye, is a trader and single parent who has worked hard to care for the family. Growing up, Cindy helped her mother sell at the market and cared for her younger siblings. Those years taught her hard work, sacrifice, and responsibility. 

Cindy was born and raised in the Church of Pentecost and gave her life to Jesus at age 14. Her daily quiet time and prayer help her stay focused. She serves as an usher and cleaner in church. In 2022, Daniel Tengey met her and invited her to Young Life. That invitation sparked her passion for ministry. For 4 years she has been a campaigner, and for 4 years she has served as a leader. Cindy currently leads a club and is involved in College/University Ministry with students ages 23-25.

Now a Developing Global Leader, Cindy will begin studying Human Resource Management
at Pentecost University in Sowoutum. She is the first in her family to attend university. She chose HR because she wants to learn how to manage and help people effectively, support her family, and serve others in a Christian way. Her long-term goal is to start her own business and possibly a consultancy firm that transforms lives. Cindy wants to stay disciplined in her studies, reach out to people who need help, and serve faithfully on Young Life assignments. She hopes her degree will help her get a good job to support her mother and siblings, and equip her to mentor the next generation.
