James Osae is a 19-year-old Young Life leader from Awoshie in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. He is the second youngest of nine children and grew up watching his parents work hard to provide for their family. His father works in building and construction and also serves as a pastor, while his mother is a trader. Although money was often tight, James learned the value of perseverance and sacrifice. There were days he went to school on an empty stomach without money for food, but he stayed focused on his education because he believed it would create opportunities for his future.

James gave his life to Christ at the age of 11 after responding to an invitation during one of his father's sermons. As he grew older, his faith became more personal. In 2020, his older brother introduced him to Young Life by inviting him to camp. What started as a fun experience became a life-changing ministry. Over the past six years, James has grown from a Campaigner to a Young Life leader. Today he leads clubs in Awoshie and McCarthy, serves in school ministry, and volunteers at camps as a work crew member, cabin leader, and instrumentalist. Through Young Life, he has grown in confidence, leadership, and patience.

Now a Developing Global Leader, James will begin studying Law at the University of Ghana. His goal is to graduate with First Class honors and become a lawyer who stands for justice and gives a voice to those who need one. He also hopes to mentor young leaders, help start more Young Life clubs across Ghana, and use both his career and ministry to serve others with integrity and make a lasting impact.
