Maria

My name is Maria. I live in a well developed village next to Poznań, Poland. I had an amazing childhood with a caring, loving family who supported me in every challenge. My family is Catholic so I grew in my faith from an early age. However, I still needed to find my own way to build a relationship with Jesus.

In Catholic school, I met a community of people who knew God just as I did. During this time, I joined Young Life, which was a big milestone for me. I met people who were not afraid to share their stories, even the difficult ones. These people were willing to spend time with me and develop our faith together. In Young Life, I learned to talk about God, to listen to other people and to ask and dive into uncomfortable questions. Currently, I'm a Young Life leader and also a part of university chaplaincy. Thanks to these two spaces, I can simultaneously give my best and support others in their journey with Jesus.

As a recipient of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, I am studying business and economics, with an emphasis on Project Management, at the University of Economics and Business in Pozna. After I finish my degree, I want to apply for a masters degree in the same major. I want to manage projects and lead people to perform well based on their skills. I also want to serve and share the gospel with university students. I will continue leading in the Young Life University group and the university chaplaincy. I cannot wait to begin this work with God as my leader!
