David Yeboah

My name is David Yeboah, but people call me Day One. I’m from a suburb of Accra. I grew up with my parents and 4 siblings. My dad and my mom are both traders. Life has not been easy. Sometimes I went to school hungry. We lived in a small two-room house where space was tight. My parents worked hard but their income was limited.

I gave my life to Jesus in 2022 after hearing the Gospel. Before that I struggled a lot with anger, but through prayer, God’s Word, and the Holy Spirit, He taught me patience, self-control, and forgiveness. My faith now shapes how I live and serve. I was introduced to Young Life when my leader spoke to me on the road and invited me to club and camp. For 3 years I was a campaigner, and for 3 years I’ve served as a volunteer leader. I currently lead a football club and a neighborhood high school club for students ages 14-20. I also serve in my church on the Media Team and Prayer Team.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I am studying Information and Communication Technology because I’m passionate about using technology to solve real problems in education, ministry, and business. My goal is to become a Computer Scientist who develops apps that help people. I’m the first in my family to attend university. Through the DGL program I want to grow spiritually and academically, do more contact work, start new Young Life clubs, and recruit leaders. I also want to be a youth coach and mentor who helps young people discover purpose.
