I am Kath from Cebu City. As a child, I witnessed my parents frequently fighting and did not experience much affection or emotional support from them. As a result, I looked for acceptance and care from others. My father passed away in early 2026, and his death has been one of the most difficult experiences my family has faced.
Growing up, I experienced bullying and struggled with low self-esteem. I didn’t have the confidence to step outside my comfort zone. When I was in high school, one of my friends persistently invited me to Young Life Club. A turning point in my life was when I attended my first Young Life Camp. Through camp, I realized that everyone faces struggles and uncertainties, and that I was not alone. I came to understand that God is with us even in our hardest seasons. I realized that what I had been searching for all along was a relationship with Jesus. Since then, my perspective has changed. I now choose to see every experience—even hardship—as an opportunity for God to shape my character, strengthen my faith, and prepare me for the future. Those challenges have made me more resilient, hopeful, and dependent on God.
Now a Developing Global Leader, I hope to use my life to encourage others to follow Christ. I hope to successfully complete my degree in Accountancy and use the knowledge and skills I gain to build a stable and meaningful career. Above all, I want to live a life that honors Jesus. I am honored to be the first person in my family to attend university.
