Moisés Faustino

My name is Moisés I grew up in the city of Cochabamba, in a home marked by many hardships. I have three siblings, and my parents work together as bakers, though they are separated.  My childhood was wonderful, but affected by my father’s alcoholism and violence. This led me to harbor a lot of resentment toward him.

My life took a drastic turn during the pandemic, when my mother became seriously ill with COVID-19. Terrified at the thought of losing her, I begged God to save her, promising Him I would change my lifestyle. Miraculously, she recovered, and as I experienced God’s immense mercy, I was able to leave my bad habits behind. I made the decision to follow Christ with all my heart. As I came to know Jesus, He transformed my heart, which enabled me to genuinely forgive my father.

I learned about the Young Life ministry through my pastor and soon became a volunteer leader. Attending a camp in Santa Cruz had a profound impact on my life, fueling my desire to serve God 100 percent. I am currently a leader at two clubs in my area, and it fills me with joy to be able to share the Gospel with young people and children.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I am studying Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at the Universidad Mayor de San Simón. My biggest dream is to become a strength and conditioning coach or head coach—perhaps even for Bolivia’s national team—always teaching that God comes first.
