My name is Isabella. I grew in Medellín, Colombia. I live with my parents. Although my community faces major daily challenges, such as violence and drug trafficking, I was immensely blessed to grow up in a close-knit Christian home with my parents, who instilled in me values of love and service. My biggest challenge during my childhood was overcoming severe shyness. At school, I found it extremely difficult to socialize, and I often felt very isolated. Thanks to my family’s constant support and my faith, I was able to overcome my fears and gain self-confidence.
Although I had known God since I was very young, my faith became truly personal at age 17, when I began serving in my church’s youth ministry. I realized that I couldn’t lead on my own strength alone, so I decided to trust Jesus completely, making Him the center of my purpose. When I discovered Young Life, I deeply identified with its relational model. Today, I have the immense privilege of serving as director of Club Castilla, where I mentor other leaders and strive to create a safe environment for teens to get to know Jesus through genuine friendship.
Now a Developing Global Leader, I will be studying Modern Languages at EAN University. My career dream is to work as a specialized translator and international project coordinator. I will be the first person in my family to graduate from college. My goal is to make the most of this opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. I want to strengthen my leadership skills, acquire new knowledge and practical tools, and be better prepared to have a greater impact on the lives of young people through ministry.
