Eva

My name is Eva, and I am from Ukraine. I grew up in a large Christian family with my parents and eight siblings. Although we had very little financially, my childhood was rich in love, faith, and the joy of being together. My parents taught us about God from an early age, but during my teenage years I struggled in my relationship with my mother. My family has had the greatest influence on shaping my character. They are my greatest blessing, but also my greatest challenge. That difficult season left me feeling hopeless, yet it also helped me realize how important love, grace, and healthy relationships truly are.

I was baptized at the age of fourteen, but my faith became personal two years later during one of the hardest periods of my life. Through God's grace, I found hope and a new purpose. Soon afterward, my brother invited me to a Young Life club where he was serving. From my very first meeting, I felt welcomed and became part of the team. Today, serving teenagers through Young Life is one of the greatest joys of my life, and leading others has challenged me to grow in patience, humility, and genuine care for people.

I am studying Ukrainian Philology at The Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy because I have always loved the Ukrainian language and literature. More than pursuing a particular career, I want my life to point others to Christ and encourage the people around me to know Him personally. Through DGL, I hope to become a wiser and more disciplined leader, learn to set healthy priorities, and develop habits that will help me serve God faithfully for many years while caring well for both others and myself.
