Jordy Antonie

I grew up in a home with my mom, dad, and sister, but tension in my parents’ marriage was always present. Over time, the conflict affected our family deeply, and our relationships began to fall apart. My studies became unstable as the stress at home increased. The situation worsened when my father was unfaithful and another child was born, leading my parents to separate. After the separation, my sister stayed with my mom while I went to live with my dad. Adjusting to a divided family was painful, and it forced me to mature quickly. Although those years were difficult, they shaped my resilience and taught me the importance of forgiveness, healing, and hope for restoration.

I truly encountered Jesus when I attended camp - I saw His love reflected in the way people welcomed me. For the first time, I felt included, heard, and genuinely cared for. My counselor gave me attention and reminded me that I mattered. While my faith journey began at club, it was at camp that I made a sincere commitment to follow Jesus. After that experience, I became dedicated to prayer, reading the Bible, and growing spiritually. Through community and discipleship, Young Life became a place where my relationship with Jesus deepened and my life gained new direction.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I hope to graduate and build a career while continuing to serve Jesus through ministry. I want to help train future leaders and go to places where Young Life has not yet reached, sharing the good news with others. I also hope to be an agent of change in my family and community and be the first person in my family to graduate from university.
