I grew up in Armenia in a broken home shaped by conflict and my father’s struggle with alcohol. I knew about God, but for a long time I questioned His love and wondered why my life looked the way it did. In 2020, I was drafted into the army and experienced the reality of war, loss, and fear. One night, when a shell landed in front of me and did not explode, I realized God had spared my life—and that His presence was real even in the darkest places.
I first encountered Young Life in 2015, when I was 13, almost by accident—I went to camp with neighborhood kids at the last minute. Even before fully understanding faith, I kept coming because I was drawn to the love, joy, and authenticity I saw there. After returning from war, I chose to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, and Young Life became a place where my faith grew and where I now serve others with the same hope I once received.
Music has always been part of my life. In 2023, while serving at a Young Life camp, I began playing cajón and later taught myself guitar, rediscovering a natural gift for music. Now a Developing Global Leader, I plan to major in music at Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory and hope to use both my education and musical gifts to serve God and others in the future.
