Heyke Julieth

I was born in Puerto Cabezas into what I believed was a healthy and happy family. When I was seven, I realized my mother was unhappy with my father, and they separated before I turned eight. The process was painful and confusing. Later, my stepfather entered our home, and the relationship was deeply difficult. He did not respect my sisters and me, and resentment and anger grew in my heart. For nearly ten years, bitterness shaped my emotions and relationships, and conflict became a constant presence in our home.

During that  season, I began speaking honestly with God about my pain and my unwillingness to continue living with hatred. God began healing my heart in ways I could not have imagined. Forgiveness became possible, and through it, I experienced God’s love for the first time in a deep and personal way. Although I had known who Jesus was as a child, I truly met Him after attending a Young Life camp. Seeing how Jesus loved others—and how people reflected that love toward me—became the catalyst for lasting change. A friend invited me into a Young Life club, and my faith took root.

Now a Developing Global Leader, I desire to continue serving God by developing leaders and I hope to apply what I learn in my career to care for others more deeply, always remembering that every opportunity and gift comes from God. My goal is to live with humility, love, and grace, reflecting the mercy Jesus shows me each day.
