I am a young African woman shaped by deep loss and hardship. My father abandoned us early in my life, leaving behind many unanswered questions, and soon after, my mother passed away from illness. Losing both parents left me alone in the world, carrying the weight of grief and severe financial struggles. There were days when I wondered why I should keep fighting when life felt so heavy. Yet even in the darkest moments, a small voice inside urged me to hold on.
My greatest challenge was surviving after losing my family and facing poverty, but Jesus met me in the middle of my brokenness. At age fifteen, after my mother’s death, I opened my old Bible and read Psalm 27:10: “Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” That night, I surrendered my life to Him. Jesus became my comfort in hunger, my hope in darkness, and my strength when I had none. Today, my walk with Christ is my life line. His Word guides me, His provision sustains me, and His presence reminds me that I am never alone.
Now a DGL, my dream is to finish university and become a strong, self-sufficient woman grounded in Christ - to grow spiritually, gain leadership skills, and build a stable future free from poverty. I hope to support myself, serve my community, and prove that with faith and perseverance, a girl who once had nothing can rise into everything God created her to be.
