I was born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where I live with my parents and two younger brothers. My childhood was filled with love, but my family faced many financial challenges, and it was often difficult to afford school fees or basic needs. These struggles created pressure and frustration at times, yet they also shaped me into someone determined, compassionate, and hopeful. Growing up in this environment taught me resilience and gave me a deep desire to serve God and support others in my community who face similar hardships.
My faith journey began after a difficult season in my life. For five years, I struggled with addiction and felt completely lost, without direction or peace. One day, in desperation, I cried out to God and He answered. Jesus set me free, restored my hope, and gave me a new purpose. As I began attending church again, my relationship with Him became real and life-changing. Shortly after, a leader from Young Life invited me to serve youth, opening the door to ministry. Through Young Life, where I have now served for over seven years, I discovered my calling to lead, mentor young people, and share the hope I found in Christ.
Now a DGL, I hope to grow as a leader in ministry and the workplace. I am studying Marketing and Management. My goal is to support my family, contribute to Ethiopia’s development, and strengthen youth ministry by empowering young people to find purpose in Christ.
