I grew up and still live in Wenjii Shewa, Ethiopia, with my mother and father. My parents are both active in our church as ministers and have always been examples of faith and love for me. We faced many challenges as a family, especially poverty, but my parents taught me to rely on God and to never give up. Their encouragement helped me grow into a responsible and hopeful person who believes that even through hardship, God provides a way forward.
From my childhood, I have known about Jesus, but my personal relationship with Him began when I started going to church regularly. There, I learned more about His love and grace, and my life began to change. I serve God through singing in church and by leading others to know Him. I first heard about Young Life from other young people who were already involved, and I was inspired by their joy and faith. Now, I lead clubs for both high school students and Capernaum (special needs) friends. Through Young Life, I have learned how to serve with patience, prayer, and love.
Now a Developing Global Leader, I am the first person in my family to attend university. I hope to work hard in my studies and build a strong foundation for my education. I plan to continue serving as a Young Life leader and use my university degree to create opportunities for others in my community while honoring God in all I do.
