Charity

My name is Charity and I live in the capital city of Malawi with my parents and three siblings. Growing up was not easy. There were many times when I went to school on an empty stomach or had to stay home because we couldn’t pay school fees. These challenges were painful, but they taught me resilience and strengthened my faith.

My faith journey began in 2020 when I attended a Young Life club at my school. It was there that I came to know Jesus personally and surrendered my life to Him. Later, I joined campaigners, where I learned what it truly means to follow Christ and was helped to grow in my faith. Today, I serve as a Team Leader and Area Leader in Lilongwe North, mentoring high school students, leading campaigners, and serving in YoungLives. I also teach Sunday School at my family’s church, the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian.

As a DGL, I am studying Nursing and Midwifery at Daeyang Luke University, my dream is to become a registered midwifery nurse, serving people in my community who are sick and in need of care. I hope to pursue a master’s degree, mentor young leaders, introduce more Young Life clubs, and faithfully serve God by bringing hope and healing to others.
