Milana

My name is Milana, and I live in Prague, Czech Republic, with my mom and brother. I had a good childhood, but I was a shy child. As a teenager, shortly before moving to the Czech Republic, I enjoyed going to parties with my friends where we drank alcohol. Then, I faced the challenge of moving from Ukraine to the Czech Republic because of the war. I struggled with loneliness but then met a Young Life leader who told me about Jesus. 

Growing up, my family did not go to church. I came to know Jesus through my Young Life leader after camp. I stopped feeling lonely and realized I did not need alcohol. My life became filled with meaning and love, and I wanted to give that to other teenagers. So, I am now a Young Life leader in Prague.

As a recipient of the Developing Global Leaders scholarship, I am studying business and economics at Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic. With my degree, I want to start my own business. I want to grow in business, leadership and strategic thinking. I also want to continue serving in ministry, finding new teens, befriending them, and taking them to camp.
