I come from a humble background and was raised by my single mother after my parents separated when I was very young. Life was hard growing up. We faced many financial struggles, and at times it affected my education. I wasn’t sure I would finish high school, but thankfully I received a scholarship that helped me complete it. My mother worked very hard to support us, and her strength taught me to keep going.
I met Jesus personally in high school, though I had known about God since I was a child. When my parents separated, I felt lost and confused. That pain led me to ask deeper questions about life and faith. A friend invited me to a Young Life club, and I went for the fun and friendship. But over time, I saw something different in the leaders and how they talked about Jesus. At camp, I heard the gospel in a way that made sense. I gave my life to Jesus, and He has been changing me ever since—helping me grow, love others, and face challenges with peace.
As a DGL, I hope to become a skilled software developer. I want to use technology to help my family, my community, and small businesses. I believe leadership is not about having a title, but about serving others and living with purpose. Young Life is close to my heart, and I hope to keep walking with young people, sharing God’s love in simple, everyday ways. I’m proud to be the first in my family to attend college, and I will be studying Information Technology at the University of Nairobi.
