Chimwemwe

I grew up in Mwanza with my parents and siblings. When I was young, I started making bad choices, like smoking and behaving poorly. My parents were very strict with me during that time, often punishing me to correct my behavior. As I grew older, I began to realize the importance of living well and respecting others. Over time, I changed my ways and became more responsible. The challenges I faced in my early years—and the discipline from my parents—shaped me into the person I am today.

I was raised in a Christian family, so I knew about Jesus from a young age. My parents’ constant prayers and example helped guide me to follow Him. I first heard about Young Life through friends at school. One day I decided to join, and from then on, I saw it was part of God’s plan for my life. Young Life gave me a place to grow in my faith, read the Bible, and believe more deeply in God’s Word. Today, I serve as a team leader in the Young Life high school ministry, working with students to share God’s love and encourage them in their own walk with Christ.

Now as a DGL, I am studying Human Resource Management at Exploits University. My desire is to earn enough money to support my brother, sister, and others who cannot afford school fees or basic needs. In ministry, I want to use my resources and effort to support and even start new ministries, helping spread the gospel and serve communities in need.
