My name is Binita, and I’m from South Asia. I live with seven family members—my grandmother, parents, two elder brothers, and an elder sister. My father was the sole provider. When I was young, life was happy, but as needs grew, he went abroad to earn money. His income was insufficient, and our family faced many challenges. One of my brothers struggled with drug addiction. My father returned to help and he lost his income. We experienced poverty, fights, loss, anxiety, and mental health struggles. Despite these hardships, I met God at age 11, and since then, I’ve found happiness and peace.
When I was in 6th grade, my mother suffered from mental health issues. At that time, I met God personally. I trusted, prayed, and a miracle happened. Young Life became my peace zone. I attended with my sister, who encouraged me to join. It offered a friendly and inspiring environment, and strengthened my faith in Jesus. I encountered a caring and supportive space where I’ve built friendships with so many people. It teaches me positive values that help me grow and shine in all areas of my life.
As a DGL, I am pursuing my bachelor's in business and accounting. My goal is to establish myself as an accountant. In ministry, I plan to form a women’s team to empower teenage girls as a way to lead them closer to God. My main goal is to serve women in my community by sharing God’s love, hope, and purpose through this team, with Jesus Christ at the center of everything.
