I grew up in a rural area outside the city with a loving but poor family. My parents were farmers, and life was hard—sometimes we didn’t have enough to eat, and paying for school was a struggle. Even though studying was difficult, I loved going to school and playing with friends. Over time, I met people who encouraged me and helped me believe I could do something meaningful with my life.
I met Jesus through Young Life Campaigners Camp. The Young Life leader taught us from John 1:4–5 about the light and life found in Jesus. That message stayed with me. The leaders explained how Young Life works, and I felt drawn to join. It became a place where I grew in faith and found community.
Now as a DGL, I’m studying Finance at the University of Lay Adventists of Kigali. I will be the first in my family to attend college. My hope is to grow through my studies and develop skills for self-employment and leadership. I want to build a future where I can support myself and help others in my community.
