I was born and raised in Musanze District, in the Northern Province of Rwanda. One of the greatest challenges in my childhood was losing my father when I was nine years old. He left behind only two children—my younger sibling and me—under the care of our mother, who had very limited resources. Life was hard, especially with education and basic needs, but my mother raised us with deep faith and constant prayer. By God’s grace, I completed secondary school through the nine years basic education program, and my sibling is now in Senior 3. These experiences taught me patience, resilience, and most of all, to trust in God.

I met Jesus personally when I attended a Young Life camp during a very difficult time in my life. I was feeling lonely, hopeless, and unsure of my future. At camp, I learned to accept myself and discovered that Jesus loves me and has good plans for my life. This gave me peace and freedom in my heart, and my relationship with Him grew deeper than ever before. I first came to Young Life through a friend who reached out to me. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, valued, and loved. Young Life has played a big role in my spiritual growth.

As a DGL, I will be studying Land Survey at Ines Ruhengeri University. My dream is to use my knowledge to help the poor and marginalized, and to serve as a leader who encourages others. In ministry, I want to share my story with young people who are hurting and to walk alongside them, helping them know that Jesus loves them and has not forgotten them.
