I grew up in a small village with my parents and siblings in Christian home. My father is a day laborer, and my mother is a housewife. Life was hard, and we often struggled for basic needs. I faced many challenges in school, sometimes missing classes due to financial difficulties. Despite this, I was taught honesty, respect, and gratitude. With my parents’ support and faith in God, I stayed strong. These struggles made me patient, hardworking, and hopeful.
Though I grew up Christian and attended church, my faith was based on what I was taught. Everything changed when a Young Life staff invited me to a Club. I experienced genuine care and learned about Jesus’ unconditional love. This message was a turning point—I accepted Jesus as my Savior and began following Him fully. Since then, my faith has grown, and I now serve as a volunteer leader to help others find the same hope and love. In 2019 I attended camp, which was a joyful and life-changing experience. Eventually, I left Young Life for a while, but my leaders stayed by my side. In 2022, another camp touched my heart, and I returned as volunteer. I also serve as a deacon at my church.
As a DGL, my vision is to become a strong, Christ-centered leader who uses education to impact my community. I will studying Social Work hoping to use these skills to serve poverty-stricken youth with limited opportunities where I can mentor and help people grow spiritually and practically. As a Young Life leader, I hope to grow in leadership, train others, and bring hope to forgotten places. I believe God will use my education and faith to create lasting change.
