My name was changed for security reasons. I live in a big city with my family and had a very eventful childhood. I was born into a family of faithful parents who are involved in Young Life, so from the time I was a kid, I went to Young Life outings, camps, and clubs where I connected deeply with teenagers and gained valuable insight.

Despite my Christian upbringing, I fell into an unhealthy lifestyle and drifted far from God until I was 16 years old. I was going back and forth and seemed to be going downhill, but God extended His hand to me. I experienced many blessings and signs that awakened my heart. I realized that my life without God was nothing and was baptized in the summer of 2023. After that I realized I wanted to be a leader and serve teenagers.  God gave me a great gift, and I could no longer be silent about Him.

I believe that the DGL program will help me grow stronger as a leader and give me courage to work through my weaknesses. I’m currently studying psychology at a local university and I am confident that the knowledge I have gained will make me a strong leader. I truly feel that leadership is my calling, and I hope that after this season of learning and development, I will be fully equipped to step into a full-time role on Young Life staff and make an even greater impact in the lives of young people.
